New Government website for small businesses

The Department for Trade and Industry has launched a new website that brings together all of the rules and regulations that must be understood by businesses. It is aimed particularly at the 3.3 million small and medium-sized businesses and self-employed workers.

The Business Link website includes sections on employment law and on payroll, the latter prepared jointly with the Inland Revenue. Curiously, the payroll section includes advice on outsourcing payroll but not on obtaining and running an in-house payroll system.
